Nearly 30 years ago, Reuki Schutt left a thriving career in sales to enroll in law school. Three years later, she opened her law practice in downtown Canton and the rest is history.

As a mother of three daughters, Reuki is passionate about helping families and protecting children. This passion is the foundation of SD Law. “We understand and appreciate that people come to us at difficult times in their lives,” she says. “It’s our goal to marshal them through those times and, as much as possible, to make it easier for them.”

A graduate of Bradford College and New England Law School, Reuki draws upon her education and diverse experience to represent clients in four primary areas: family law, estate and probate law, guardian ad litem work, and residential real estate transactions. Reuki says it is her intention to help clients resolve issues as expeditiously as possible. At times, this involves litigating. “We aren’t afraid to zealously advocate for our clients,” she says. Still, Reuki believes that in contentious cases, it is critical to help clients shift the narrative and to move forward rather than dwelling on the past. “We like to help families create new traditions and new ways of being.”

Outside of work, Reuki is deeply invested in serving the Canton community. She is a former elected member of the Canton School Committee (16 years) and served as Chairperson for three years. She is also a member of the Canton Community Club, the Blue Hills Civic Association, and the Joint Venture Investment Club. She is a member of the Norfolk County Bar Association, the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts, the American Inns of Court, and “ARC” (Attorneys Representing Children).

Reuki lives in Canton with her husband. In her free time, she enjoys visiting with her three daughters and her grandchildren.
